Problem using same name for multiple forums

Well i did my planning a bit wrong and it looks like i will have to use the same name for multiple forums

I think i will have to either add the forum id to the forum name or just use the forumid itself

What is the best way for this transition ? I have around 500 threads and im wondering if i just change it... how this will be effected by the search engines.
