Problem to redirect 404 pages to home page

I've a problam with 404 pages and 301 redirect.

For example this page:

*ttp://www.cionfs.it/forum/news-vbulletin-e-vbseo-vf54/6895-vbulletin-org-steadfast-v3-new-post.html

I've enabled "File Not Found" requests handling? on Redirect to homepage.

Why doesn't works?

PS: sorry for my bad english

For forumdisplay and showthread pages vBulletin has an option to show a default message. It's how it is designed to work.
