    Probably a stupid question, but...

    Your URLs look like:

    /lost-about-50-000-pages-google-2169/

How do I get my URLs to look like the above?

    Mine look like:

    /22-paypal-analysis.html

I want it to be like:

    /paypal-22/

    and for the second page...

    /paypal-22/index2.html

    Thank you!

nope, not stupid at all. Juan actually pointed this out and recommended it to me when I set my site up.

Changing the thread_id to the end of the URL

What about removing the .html bit? Is that good? Bad?

    Spencer,

you are free to choose the URL format you like more.

If you prefer them to look like here at vbseo.com, just enter the following in vbseocp:

    Thread URL Format:
    f[forum_id]/[thread_title]-[thread_id]/

    Multiple Page Thread URL Format:
    f[forum_id]/[thread_title]-[thread_id]/index[thread_page].html

'Last Post in Thread' Redirect URL Format:
    f[forum_id]/[thread_title]-[thread_id]-last/

'Newest Post in Thread' Redirect URL Format:
    f[forum_id]/[thread_title]-[thread_id]-new/

Multiple page 'Go To Post in Thread' Redirect URL Format:
    f[forum_id]/[thread_title]-[thread_id]-[thread_page]-post[post_id]/

    'Previous Thread' Redirect URL Format:
    f[forum_id]/[thread_title]-[thread_id]-prev/

    'Next Thread' Redirect URL Format:
    f[forum_id]/[thread_title]-[thread_id]-next/

    Thanks for responding.

Is it valued the same or not? (Because I prefer the look of www.domain.com/forum/thread/ [without the .html].)

Hm.. I can't say for sure and I doubt someone can
Most likely, it depends on many other aspects. For instance, the long (multi-page) threads fit to "separate folder" logic better, while single-page threads don't.

Imagine how would you organize your site structure if it is not a forum, but rather a site you maintain yourself.

    Just my opinion
