    -post URLs duplicated

    Hi all;
once again I'm experiencing some issues with -post URLs as duplicated meta tags and descriptions.

For example google thinks this is duplicated:

    http://intotheapple.com/problemi-har...post12125.html

even though it redirects correctly to here:

    http://intotheapple.com/problemi-har...html#post12125

    First of all: why??

    Second:
I can avoid this issue by adding
    Code:
    Disallow: *-post*
to my robots.txt. This way every url which contains "post" is ignored. The problem is that also the urls that contain "posta" (=mail in italian) are ignored… Any way to avoid this?

Third: is using the robots.txt really the right and only solution?

    Thank you!

...post12125.html should be marked as a 301 in google. It should eventually drop out.

You can change your 'showpost' url format in vbseoCP to something unique if you wish, so that you can robots it out easier.

Thank you Brian. Could you explain a little bit more about the solution you mentioned?

    In
    /vbseocp.php#url_forum

    Click on the advanced tab

    Scroll down to 'Showpost'

And then change it to a custom rule instead of
    [post_id]-post[post_count].html

    use something like
    [post_id]-FGSDGFASDF[post_count].html

or a real word that will not exist in a thread title so there is no confusion when you add that to the robots file.

    Thank again but…

Will that affect my ranking on google?

Is this the only way? I mean, using robots.txt…Seems just like a way to get by…

These 301 urls shouldn't be indexed in the first place. Google only saves 200's.

That's a question for google... The website is throwing the proper header.

    I discovered this:
if I enter one of my forum sections, for example this one
    http://intotheapple.com/problemi-software/

    a
nd I look at the links for the last message (indicated by this arrow Name: lastpost-right.png
Views: 10
Size: 224 Bytes), these are different whether you are logged or not.

If you are logged the link looks like this:
    http://intotheapple.com/problemi-software/2889-come-esportare-illustrator.html#post27701

If you are not it looks like this:
    http://intotheapple.com/problemi-software/2889-come-esportare-illustrator-post27701.html#post27701

Is this normal? May this be the cause of the issue?

    Thank you!

No, that is not normal. It should re-direct to the first url.
