A Post By Joe - "Replace post number link with Permalink"

Sorry fellas I can't find a post by Joe I was looking for so I need to ask this...

I already made the change so the forum name doesn't show in title's but the second part Joe mentioned was to turn on the option to replace post number link with permalink.

My questions is, what happens when I do that in regards to google and so forth? Do I lose positioning for a while or something?

I'm just not sure what actually happens that might be negative. Trying to find out before I turn it on.

it removes the bloat of showpost.


I suggest using:

-replace with permalink as above
-NOT re-writing showpost.php in the vbseo options (will have to hit the (+) to epand the preset)
- not including showpost in the sitemap
- robots.txt out showpost.php
