    Permalinks being indexed?

My forum had the setting "Replace post number link with Permalink" and I thought that these urls (domain.com/forum/example.html#post1000) would not be indexed but I just noticed Google started to index these posts and actually changed the URL structure in their index. The above url according to Webmaster Tools is indexed as:

    domains.com/forum/exmaple-post1000.html.

Is this something new Google is doing?

That link is the OLD showpost URL, not the permalink.

I highly suggest NOT re-writing showpost pages, robots.txt out showpost.php, and continue to use the replace with permalink method.

Thats just an example. It IS indexing the Permalink.

I've had vbseo not rewriting showpost.php for years.

    permalinks use bookmarks, ie thread-123.html#456

there's no bookmark in that url:
    domains.com/forum/exmaple-post1000.html.

    To put it more clearly.

I've had vbseo not rewriting showpost.php for years.

I've had showposts.php blocked out in robots.txt for years.

I've never had a problem with posts showing up in the index.

I check Diagnostics, Content Analysis and it states I have 13k duplicate Metas, Title, etc....

When I check them, its the individual posts showing up in their index, rewritten in a structure that is not on my forum. I've had Permalinks for years and have never changed it.

Then, those URLs should 404. do they return a proper 404 header? If you're redirecting to homepage, you aren't using a proper 404 header, and thus, it will remain in search indexes.

They are actually redirected to the permalink. I have changed nothing with Permalinks since they were introduced and now all of a sudden these posts are being indexed.
