    Permalink Question

    Hello All.

I'm trying to get my permalinks to show correctly. Right now they are showing the following.

    http:// www. cloudhostingchat.com /general/ 42.htm

I'd like it to show this...

http:// www. cloudhostingchat.com /general/ Welcome To Cloud Hosting Chat

The actual post title and not a page number.

I've gone into the Permalinks section and chosen "Replace post number link with Permalink" but i' not sure ... is that the right option.

    I'm using vbulletin 3.8.2

    and vbseo 3.5.2

    Any help is appreciated.

    1. Recommended Permalink structure:
I want to use use /%post_id%/%postname%/ as recommended by several seo experts.
    How do I do this?
I originally chose the VBSEO sample, however when my permalinked article and blog names were re-written and were redirected internally, they pointed to pages that no longer existed - with no 303 error because I did a redirect to my home page if that occurs. I also noticed a substantial slow-down of my database after I did the VBSEO permalink re-structure - but it slowed my entire database down to the point of 30-second loads for a single article. I had to do a complete system restore from ten days ago to get it back to normal again. I switched to a faster server on my host on Friday, hoping this will resolve this issue.

    Hello,

According to our SLA, please keep in mind that responses from staff members on weekends / holidays may take up to 48 hours. Learn more at: http://www.vbseo.com/go/SLA

Regarding your first question, you'll need to edit your URLs format on vBSEO CP -> URL Rewrite Settings. It is recommended to choose a preset, they were made for better optimization and to avoid troubles while setting up your URLs. Nevertheless, you are always free to set up a custom format by going on to the 'Advanced Tab' in every section

Thanks for your reply. Just so you are aware, I wasn't demanding a reply immediately. I was simply asking for a reply, since my thread got immediately muttled by other requests. I just wanted the thread to remain on topic, for my request, whenever someone got around to it.

However, now that you have replied thank you for your quick response, and answer. This is resolved.
