    Parking a domain

I have an existing site (for many years) that is based in Australia so it has a .com.au extension

I also own the same domain name with the extensions of .org, .co.uk, .co.nz and .us

My question is I want to take my existing site global so is there any difference in terms of Google etc if I:
    1. Keep using .com.au and park the .org etc domains on top of .com.au
    2. Move the site to .org and park the .com.au etc domains on that?

In other words does it mean anything to Google etc which domain is used and which are parked on top of it?

    Thanks

If you want to go global, you need to ditch the country code and use a .com/.org/.net domain. Yes, you will have to be re-indexed, but the long term goal will hopefully be in your favor.

Move the site to the .org, and park the .com.au ontop of it, and make sure you are using the non-www to www redirect, so that all urls become the TRUE domain, and the parked domain is actually 301'ed to it.

Thanks Brian...I was hoping to overcome the cookie issues for existing users by parking .org on top of .com.au

Yeah, you want to do the opposite. You want your global domain to become the MAIN domain.
