The number links can be turned off in vbseocp they are called Footer Archive Links, in vBSEO3.5 they can be found under Other Enhancements =>Footer Archive Links.
To move the copyright you will need to edit the footer template and placewhere ever you want the copyright to appear.<!--VBSEO_COPYRIGHT-->

How beneficial is it to have the number links there. My forum has hundreds but all they do is link back to the front page. They also only show for users that are not logged in.

I would suggest disabling them, and in fact, disabling the archive altogether.
