no more report after sitemao 2.1

The sitemap report was working great, until I installed the new version 2.1. Then it stopped working. I copied the "data" directory over the old one because I wanted to preserve the history. Is that the right way to do it? What can I do to fix the issue? Your help is appreciated.

had the same problem and figured out I had Allow_url_fopen turned Off , turn it On if you're in this case, php.ini is under /etc/php.ini or often there /usr/local/lib/php/php.ini

This was the issue. As soon as I changed the permission on the data directory to 777, I got the new report.
    Thank you very much.

also make sure the .htaccess is into this directory to restrict web writes into because if a workaround to your issue was just to allow the full access to the users on this directory also mean you have computer security like a cheese..

OK, changing permission on the data directory fixed the issue with sitemap report. But today I realized, when I go to the "Show SE Bots Activity Log" I dont see any new activity. Whats up with that? The last report I see there is the day I upgraded to sitemap 2.1.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Make sure that you have "SE Bots Activity" option enabled in vbseocp and that your data/hits/ folder permissions is also set to 0777.

Thanks for the quick reply. I will do that and let you know how it goes.
What if I chown the entire data directory to apache:apache? This way the data is owned by the right process. Do you see any (security/process) issue with that? FYI, I already have set the.htaccess

It's safe to set 0777 permissions for that folder since you have .htaccess file in it that prevents web access to it.

    That should work too.
