I have decided to stop member profiles from being added to my site-map.
Have also added members to my robots txt.
I think indexing of member profiles is pretty worthless as they all get tagged as duplicate content anyway.
Thoughts?

How do they get tagged as duplicate content? Each member profile only has one URL.
I have them indexed on all my sites... But I also usually have a lot of custom profile fields for the users to fill in which adds lots of good keywords to their pages.
I know its unreliable but site:domain/members/ query says otherwise. For me and you.
They all have the same basic content so therefore are duplicates of each other different URL or not.
Regardless they have no individual content and don't bring in any traffic.
I just see it as wasting the spiders time, it would be better spent crawling my threads.
site: searches are not accurate. Example: Search for the company name "vancosport". His profile on one of my sites is second only to his own site.
