no follow on member pages

I already have 'no follow' enabled in vbSEO for member users.

But does that prevent Google from caching/storing them completely. Or will they still be stored if found elsewhere ?

if it doesn't prevent it...how is the best way to prevent member users from being indexed in google ?

I've found with another site , that minimizing the amount of pages google has in its index (regarding your site) , increases the priority & placement of other pages of your site...in its index. So.....I figure member pages aren't really significant...and could help the other pages rank higher.

You should add it to your robots.txt if you don't want the pages int he serps.

also make sure you've removed it from your sitemap.

You can prevent guest from viewing member profile pages. This way, vBSEO won't be able to see them and thus won't index them.

You can also robots.txt out member profile pages using a regex, like:

Disallow: /members/*

Also please make sure you are not adding them to your sitemaps.

You should add both rules.

Although they do display the same content, they are different in the eyes of Google.

Question:
I write articles for my own VBulletin - and I "do" want my own articles to be Google-indexed from my own VBulletin site.
How do I designate my own username to "NOT" have rel_nofollow, and other members "TO HAVE" rel_nofollow?

vBSEO doesn't offer an option like that.

Thank you for your response. To re-confirm, I need to reconfirm the following:
1. So "rel_nofollow" is sitewide only? All or nothing?
2. People still be able to click on the link and get to the "rel-nofollow" site... but only Google will not be able to follow it, correct?

Nofollow has different settings but it doesn't have any setting that will allow only a single username include follow and rest nofollow.
