    mysql 4 or mysql v5

    I am going to build a new website tonight with forum and vbseo.

    I have to choose between mysgl 4 or 5 which is better for vb.

    That question would be better asked on www.vbulletin.com, since they are the ones that make recommendations on the proper (best) version for vBulletin.

    Was also worried about VBSEO hence post here. All the information I needed on mysql 5 I have already found in VB forums

    Hello,

    You'll have no issues running vBSEO with mysql 5. Primarily because vBSEO reads your dB and doesn't write in it except for the 1) license key during the installation process and 2) vBSEO settings while saving your options via the cp (if you have the streamlined upgrade function turned on).

    That said (and worst case scenario), if at certain point vBSEO had issues with a new version of mysql, those two scenarios can be overridden by 1) having your license key hard coded in your config file or 2) turning off the streamlined upgrade option via your config_vbseo.php file
