    Multi lingual forum,

    Hello guys

I'm currently run a forum in a language different from english.

I'm thinking about to create different section similar as we see here in vbseo.

What I was thinking to do, it is to create on the main page just two forum, for example

French forum "description in french language"
English forum "description in English language"

Then inside, have the exact duplicate forum but with the categories and so on in different language,
What I mean it is that if the forum is running in french now, I will recreate from scratch the same structure into the enghlish forum and restart to populate from zero the english section.

    My question are...

    1) the forum title, meta description, meta keywords and so on...
Does VBSEO give me a chance to have that with different content so google will index me with the correct description based on the language of the post (so if the post it is in english the description and keywords will be in english, and viceversa for french and so on).

The meta data comes from the forum title and description set in the vb admin cp forum manager. You will need to code those entries to their langauge and it should pick up autmatically.

The forumhome, however, will only run the 'default' meta code from the vbadmin area, so you may want to duplicate your keywords in both fr and en.

Just be sure if you are using /forum-name/ style urls with no ids, that there is no overlap of words

I don't know much french, but if you have:
    /with/
    and
    /avec/
    you are ok,

but perhaps there are similar words, such as 'homage' that are the same in english/french so keep in mind that each forum url and thus name, regardless of parent, needs to be unique.

    thank you Brian,

I use the french language just as an example, actually the forum is in Italian.
At the same time I'm not 100% expert of vbulletin and i'm very new to vbseo, so i do not understand 100% what your are talking about, but it is a good excuse to learn

    so:
The meta data comes from the forum title and description set in the vb admin cp forum manager. You will need to code those entries to their langauge and it should pick up autmatically.
Ok so in Admincp -> forum & moderators-> I create a new forum

    the forum title: Airbrush mania
forum description: everything about the airbrush and spray painting

When google open that forum will receive that title and that description as meta title and meta description overriding the home page one?

The forumhome, however, will only run the 'default' meta code from the vbadmin area, so you may want to duplicate your keywords in both fr and en.
So in the forum home duplicate the actual keywords in the other language, so "paint" ->"vernice" and so on...
But like that they will be too many keywords isn't?

If I have actually 15 keywords they became 30.
Does it penalize at google and others?

    /with/
    and
    /avec/
you wrote this keywords between forward slash, it is just an example or... ?

My keywords are separated by comma " , ". it is ok or... ?

    Thank you again

The Keywords are automatically added by both vb and vbseo alters them to be better. You can view source of the forum display pages here to get an example of what they turn into.

I was making the point of
    site.com/avec/
    vs
    site.com/with/
as forum urls (as in this forum is vBSEO SEO Plugin - General Discussion at vBSEO.com using the ID based rule)

You need to make sure that there are no similar words used just because of the language parent, or you will have conflicting rules. If "bread" was also "bread" in italian, you would have 2 .com/bread/ urls, which can't be.
