Moving Servers - How to ....

I am going to move my 2 vBulletin forums (both running VBSEO) to a new server. I will make a test installation on the server first to make sure everything is compatible.

Will I have problems to get VBSEO to work with it being installed on two servers at the same time? What are the recommended steps for a VBSEO move? Will VBSEO stop working if installed on two servers for the time of the move?

Hello,

there should be no issues and vBSEO will be running as long as you have correct forums URL defined in vB admincp options.

Testing is difficult as it always reverts back to the existing original site because the DNS has not yet been changed (duh, I am testing ).

Any idea how I can test this properly. I hate to change DNS and then have to move back because something does not work.

You can manually assign IP address to the domain name on your computer for testing (in windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts file if you are on Windows).
