meta description in forumdisplay cut short

Hi,

I've just installed vbseo on my test forum to try out the settings. I've started with the default settings. For my forum, which is travel related & ties-in with my main travel web site, the actual forum names and descriptions are important so I'm looking at renaming some of the forums to include more relevant key words e.g. 'hotels, villas & apartments' instead of the current 'accommodation' (which I hope is the right thing to do?).

However, I've noticed in forumdisplay that vbseo has actually made the meta description shorter & has cut off a copy of the description that I use for the forum (straight vb copies the complete description). Why does it do that? Is this a good idea?

Also is there a means of adding some standard keywords to every thread - or is that also not a good idea?

There is an option in vbseocp settings to cut the meta tags at X characters. 160-175 is recommended. Any more than that and you simply need to be more concise.

Adding "Standard" keywords to every thread doesn't help your long tail search results. You want what THAT thread is about, not what the site is about.
