    MEMCAHCE Question: Do I need to enable it in the VB Config if I have it Turned on in VBSEO?

    Title pretty much says it all. I have been playing around with MEMCACHE and it is installed on the server properly, but I want to get the most out of it. I can enable it in the config.php through vBulletin or I can enable it through VBSEO. Which is better/faster? Or should I enable both?

    Thanks.

    vbseo cache settings ONLY caches vbseo data.
    vb cache settings ONLY caches vb data.

    You should run both.

    If I run multiple forums on one server is there any special setup within vBulletin that has to take place for memcache to work properly? I know vbseo has a cache prefix to distinguish between different sites. Just wanted to see if vBulletin had something similar.

    Thanks for the response.

    Hello Robert,

    In your vBulletin config.php file you have an option to set a cache prefix if you are running multiple forums on same server:

    PHP Code:
        // ******** DATASTORE PREFIX ******
        // If you are using a PHP Caching system (APC, XCache, eAccelerator) with more
        // than one set of forums installed on your host, you *may* need to use a prefix
        // so that they do not try to use the same variable within the cache.
        // This works in a similar manner to the database table prefix.
    // $config['Datastore']['prefix'] = 'My_Database_Prefix';
