    Major dips in Google traffic

I have had a automotive related for for many years now. I bought it with just a few hundred members and it now has over 7k. Analytics reports about 700-800 visits per day and 3k-3.5k page views per day. Last month I noticed a major drop in these number for 2 days in a row... got down to about 220 visits and 1k page views.

I didn't know what to do, but decided to disable the CMS part of vbulletin. The next day I went back up to the normal numbers. Two weeks later the numbers dropped off again, so I tried enabling the CMS... numbers went back up.

I am now really struggling with my traffic where its normal for a day or two and then goes way down for a day or two. I simply can't figure out what the problem is... any ideas?

Check that your traffic isn't being hijacked by a hacker:

I don't believe so. I found a couple of results in google that took me to the pages on my site correctly. Is there any better way to check?

It's interesting that your direct traffic spikes at the same time the search referrals dip.... It may just be a cookie issue or some other identifier changing.

Do you have a Stat software installed on your server like Webalizer etc.. If so please check your traffic and see if these spikes are also similar or not.

This is a webalizer graph for May. As you can see, it shows nearly the same thing that analyzer shows.

Are you using the vbseo placement of the alalytics code?

Consider using another tracker like sitemeter.com temporarily to monitor and compare.
