Lost more than 1/2 Google search traffic after enabling vbseo & vbseo sitemap

From our Google Analytics we usually average twice as many visitors via Google search per day than since enabling vbseo.

vbseo sitemap was always installed so simply deleted the files in data folder, rebuilt the sitemaps and resubmitted in webmaster tools last week.

Any tips or reasons why this drop? Is it normal and for how long before it recovers if so?

Screen shot of sitemap settings attached. Those that are not show are default except for Password.

A drop in traffic is always expected after vBSEO installation as vBSEO reduces all duplicate content.

actually under "HTML suggestions" duplicates have increased also. Seems due to the old dynamic and new static URLs being both listed.

    Example of duplicate:
    forums.site.com/showthread.php?t=xxxx
    forums.site.com/fx/thread_name_matches_dynamic_thread/

301 Redirect Original Content is enabled in vbseocp.php

Did you follow briansol's guide to setting up vbseo? Before things get to fixed in google, I'd follow his guide to make sure everything is set good as he has some great suggestions that I wish I would have followed (though he didn't make the guide until I had it installed for a few years).

Yes. In fact I went through all the Stickys in every related forum. Example all stickys listed here:

And read and followed featured blog entries.

A dip is expected the first month or so. This is normal and actually a good sign. It means google is aware of your changes and is slowly pulling old links replacing them with the new ones.
