    Loading Speeds

    Hello,

I've noticed that it takes a long time for specific threads to open... is this a weak server issue or something to do with my forum setup?

*I have a dedicated server with godaddy (twin processor) - $170.00/month range (for now).

Any suggestions on how I can speed up the loading process associated with threads would be very much appreciated, thanks.

    Hi Mark,

Was this slower page loading only noticed after you installed vBSEO?

They really got installed at the same time so it's hard to say... on another site, however, I did notice that the threads loaded slower after I installed vbseo... any suggestions?

How active is your forum? How many others active sites are also installed?

Our forum is new... you can see it here: True2Ourselves Forums ... not much activity yet.

The last time I installed vbseo was on this same site (we've redevelop it since then)... I noticed it was slower after the install. It appears the same thing is happening. It's not "extremely" slow - but it would be nice if the thread opened faster.

If you have any suggestions on how I can speed things up, that would be great. Thanks for your help.

If you are running on a dedicated server with a new forum, you should have absolutely no performance issues whatsoever.

You should open a support ticket to have our vBSEO Total Support Team verify, and then check with GoDaddy if a performance problem exists due to the server itself.

Ok, I will do that... did you have a chance to click one of the thread to see if you agree that it is taking to long to open?

Actually - I just checked now and its moving super fast for me. Are you or anything downloading anything large on your network right now? How is your speed for other sites?

I would not think there is a problem at all based on my experience just now.

That's the only site on that server.... I'm not downloading anything. Please note that if you checked the same thread twice, this may not be a fair test. I had a little bit of custom work done by a member of this forum (loco). The description associated with one of his 'upgrades' is as follows:
"Posts can be "cached", meaning the server doesn't have to pull them from the database every time they are viewed.
To enable Post Caching, do the following: .... blah blah"

So maybe you have to view a different thread to get a fair test... the truth is that sometimes the threads are faster than others... if you could take another look, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Loco is a prominent member here. He will be able to tell you whether or not your server has any issues.

I visited several threads. I did not get any delay. It was an extremely fast experience.
