Thanks for that link. Looked into it and that is not what I am looking for... the current VBSEO enhancement is good, BUT there are some major limitations that make it difficult to roll it out.

Again here are the limitations and ways of making it work without increasing the load on the server.

This can also be done by having the replacement valid only for the first X posts in a thread... again this would be a simple limitation and not cause any server load..

I think Sgroup definitely has the right idea here. My thinking and use of the product is basically dead on with his.

For example, I would also like variables such as:
  • No more than X replacements of keyword per post ( for example if keyword is mentioned four times in one post, it will only be replaced "X" times
  • No more than X replacements of keyword per thread (If there is a large thread discussing the same keyword, it is going to look incredibly spammy and unprofessional if there isn't some limit.
  • Could possibly build upon no more than X replacements per thread and add "No more than X replacements" per page in thread.
I've read a few posts suggesting that this goes beyond the scope of VBSEO and I would strongly disagree. The whole point of good SEO (imo) is to better monetize you site and increase traffic whilde doing it in a professional manner that appears natural.

Also, regarding the template edits, to change opening in current window to open in new window, I don't see any reason why this shouldn't just be a radio button selection near the replacement option in VBSEO admin.

As we mentioned several times , vBSEO 3.2.0 is pretty close and the additional feature you requested will not be added to 3.2.0. It may be added to vBSEO 3.5.0 however it is not decided yet as the main focus is vBSEO 3.2.0 Gold.

A new BETA option will be added for testing in the next 3.2.0 build to limit the number of replacements per keyword per page, it would be able to modify it in config_vbseo.php file:

You can use "Apply Acronym Expansion to "Content Areas" only" option for that.
