Integrating [forumid] in my paths

Hello there,

I've been using vBSEO for a couple of years now, and I love it. I used the Preset 001 ("Hierarchic .html type URLs with content relevant forums and threads") when I first installed and configured vBSEO. I have thousands of users and over 1.3 million posts; many of them have made reference to posts using this format.

I am now facing the real likelihood that in our growing community, multiple forums may share the same forumname. What is the easiest/best pain-free way for me and my members to integrate [forumid] into our path?

Hello Juan ,

You have couple options.

1. Add forumid to your rewrite rules which i donot advise as all your indexed content will get lost.
2. Use forum slugs , which is your best option vBSEO Slugs - Custom Forum Titles
3. Use different name for your forums.

Thanks, Mert. With regards to item 2, are you suggesting that I assign a slug for all of my old forums that users might still be using?

You can asign slugs to same forum name you are planning.
