    Indexed pages not showing properly?

I was directed to post question in forum so I will do so.

My threads are being indexed by google, but not properly like they once were. Now, when my forum threads are indexed, they all show in this manner:

    http://www.mysite.com/forum/ (kinda generic?)

As little as a few days ago, my forum threads were being properly indexed and displayed as:

    http://www.mysite.com/forum/f10/security-your-car-1982/

I thought the point of buying vbseo was to have my forum threads display in a fashion that would be optimal and most SEO friendly.

I did not make any changes to any settings just to let you know. So how could this be happening? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Anyone? Have I stumped the residents experts with this question?

Am I going to be forced to ask for a refund for vbseo?

I just checked this morning for my threads and they are still being indexed in this manner:

    mysite.com/forum/

I did not pay a lot of money for this

    Hello,

I just looked at your website, and all of your indexed URLs are vBSEO optimized.

You can submit your website here for a review of your website, and we can try and help you: vBulletin SEO Discussion - Critique Please at vBSEO.com

Also, our refund policy states that you will only get a refund if vBSEO cannot be installed on your server.

First of all, I wish that you wouldn't recommend that I get a "Critique". I do not wish to provide my URL here for public display. Is that ok with you? I am the paying customer, correct? I find this remark to be irritating.

Ok, I quote you above that you say all of my indexed URL's are vbseo optimized. I'm saying that is incorrect and not true. Did you not read my first post of this thread? For the last 3 days for some reason, ALL of my newly indexed forum URL's are now ONLY showing up as www.mysite/forum/

Are we on the same page yet? Do you NOT understand what I am telling you? Why do people buy your product? To create forum URL's that are SE friendly, correct? I am not looking for guarantee of ranking or anything that is unreasonable, I am saying that your product doesn't seem to be working as advertised.

Furthermore. I don't see what a public critique has to do with my question. I bought this product from your company. I want answers from your staff about this product. I am not seeking answers from "other customers", I did not pay them for your product. My forum URL is none of their business. Is that ok with your Staff. When you tell me to make my forum public you sound as if you do not know the answer yourself.

As of right now you are pushing my limits of patience and I am feeling ripped-off. I don't like that. I am not a squeaky wheel that is trying to get oiled, but rather an intelligent and educated consumer and will exercise my consumer rights if necessary.

    Thank you

Both your vBSEO and vBSEO Sitemap Generator are working as expected. It is your choice to create a critique thread or not. Noone is forcing you to do so , however we are advising every member to create a thread so other members and staff can share their opinions about how to improve your overall onpage seo.

Also when i search your site , i can easily see that correct urls are indexed.

Thank you for your reply Mert. Is there a way in which I can send you an email with keyword phrases and show you how my URL's are being displayed?

I am saying there is a problem of which I did not do anything or make changes. This is clearly not an issue about google algorithms either.

I just checked on more URL's again and they are being displayed AS:

ALL of my NEW threads are showing as such, this is not good.

I have my settings exactly the same as my competitor's. His URL's are showing in google search results correctly such as:

    http://www.hissite.com/forum/f15/are-your-listening-3214/

Maybe I need to yell a bit to get my point across here. Am I still not making myself clear? I am saying at this point that clearly, your product is not working as advertised.

    Hi erichsrt8,

If you would like to take this to a Private-type discussion, I would suggest opening a Support Ticket.

You would then be able to provide staff with specific examples, without the concern of publically posting your site.

For what it's worth - I took a look at your license and - www google.co.nz/search?q=site%3A.YOURDOMAINHERE.com&hl=en&sa=2 gives me results exactly as I would expect - all of the green text under the resultant URLs in the SERPs have www. YOURDOMAINHERE.com/FORUMPATH/FORUM# or www. YOURDOMAINHERE.com/FORUMPATH/THREAD-TITLE/

Maybe if you rephrase the question, as I'm not sure I understand it.

Thank you Ace Shattock, I shall do just that and hopefully we can find a solution to this problem.

Update: Just to let you know I have submitted my ticket with some useful info.

    I've replied to the ticket.

    Bite-size:
    vBSEO is working fine.
Google is yet to index everything.
When searching for a phrase that is exactly the same as a Thread, it is normal for Google to index the Forum page if that text is visible at the time of crawling, hence it is normal for Google to show the Forum Homepage as a result until such time as it indexes the thread.

I completely and totally disagree with you. If that is true and the case, then my competitors site would be shown in the same way, but it is not.

I have supplied you with screenshots showing my google results to go along with specific search phrases. Sorry, there is something wrong and amiss here and I am not satisfied with your reply.

Your product is SUPPOSED to present my forum threads in a SE friendly format, and that it is not.

Having all of my unique forum threads appear as: mysite.com/forum is unacceptable. When a web surfer looks at results he will not see his search phrase in the Title area of the google result. Furthermore, when he clicks the link he will be brought to: mysite.com/forum and then he will have to sift through the whole forum to find the thread of his interest.

That does not make sense and shows that your product is not working as advertised. Matter of fact, I am somewhat shocked to have to point this out to you. You guys are the SEO experts, right? Does everyone in this forum not dispute how important the Title is in relevant search results?

To sum it up in a nutshell:

If you click on link that is presented properly, the visitor will be taken directly to that thread. Not to the "index" of the forum root. Understand yet? This is basic SEO 101 gentleman.

I paid for this product to do specific things. If it can not do as advertised, we have a problem. Then I don't need your product, I'll just have my URL's appear like this:

    http://www.mysite.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=140

That is no problem with me if that's the case.

    Hi Eric.

By no means I am an SEO expert.
But would you mind sharing your Forum URL via PM, with me ?

Absolutely not. By your own admission, you say that you are not an SEO expert anyway. These guys can not even provide me with an acceptable answer at this point.

This is dragging on and for what I feel should be a relatively simple question to answer. I am quickly becoming disillusioned with vBSEO and feel that the $228 dollars I've spent has been a waste. I've also spent this whole day dealing with this mess, and although I appreciate the effort by the staff, I could have spent that time and energy marketing my site.

I sincerely hope that we can come to a resolution fairly quickly at this point, if not, like I said before, I will fully exercise my rights as a consumer and escalate this issue to the proper channels.

    Thank you

    Hi vBSEO Staff --

It has been almost 7 hours since I submitted my Support Ticket. Is my problem that difficult? Can you give me an update, anything, hello?

    Hi Erich,

I have just replied to your ticket, with an attachment clearly showing a Google search that has resulted in one of your Thread URLs coming up on page 1, along with a result from when that thread was visible on the Forum Home, so that result is to /forum.

If you don't want google to ever return results for /forum, you will need to make some adjustments to your vBulletin templates that are outside the scope of what we are able to provide/disallow Google from visiting /forum, which is something we would probably never suggest to anyone.
