About LinkBacksI've noticed that if you have a url inside the [ code ] tags that it will still have a hyperlink. I thought that the code feature was to show in unformatted format, with fixed-width font so I just figured that a hyperlink shouldn't show up.

That sounds like something with vBulletin itself. Did you try it with vBSEO disabled?
