    I just don't get it...

Google indexes my site regularly. New threads appear in SERP's for a couple of weeks and then drop off even though the URL is still valid. I have had roughly 500 pages indexed for about 2 months now and they keep falling off. Why would this be? Google sees them as worthly for indexing, they do not change, yet they fall off like clockwork. Any ideas?

    Sounds like a sandboxing issue.

My site has been up for 3 years and used to have 100k pages indexed prior to VBSEO. How can that be?

Ok, so your site has been around for quite some time. Then, in that case, it should not be a sandboxing issue. Unless they changed their sandboxing algos to be per page or something similar.

Have you made any other template changes, linking, etc?

Sure, I have added things and taken things away to improve c2c ratios and such. Would small changes like that trigger google to sandbox my forum? My main portal pages have stayed throughout, no problems. The only issue is within my forum after I installed VBSEO.

Were you using a free mod_rewrite hack prior? Are you running out vBSEO Google/Yahoo Sitemap generator.

I can't see anything obvious about your site that would get you penalized.

You may have been one of the sites impacts significantly by the BigDaddy update:

Fortunately, we've seen several users reporting that re-indexing has begun for them (last two weeks).

Yes, I am running the sitemap generator, I get between 2,000-15,000 pages visited by a google bot every day.

No, I did not have any mod-rewrites prior to VBSEO.

I guess I may be a bigdaddy victim. I just hope it gets resolved by August when my site traffic usually picks up a great deal. :(

Well - we have been hearing reports of people recovering. I think they may have tweaked their algorithm somewhat to correct due to the high volume of webmaster complaints.
