I have vbseo. will i be safe after impex clean install import?

    hi all

i have been using vbseo for about 4 years now

i currently have like 79000 members, 3million posts.
i have a messed up vbulletin 3.8 and i plan to use impex to do a clean install and then import the db.

i understand that after doing that, all posts and users will be renumbered.

I need to know if vbseo will be able to rewrite the urls the same way after the renumeration.

as in say all posts and users are renumbered, i will be able to keep all the same rewritten links?

    thanks!
    tom

    Hello Tom ,

If you use Impex and if you ever hard deleted one thread or a post , all your indexed urls will have to be reindexed again. Because vBSEO depends on the information stored within database and with impex your id's will be changed.

or category, or member, or blog... same deal for those. 1 hole, and everything after that deleted item will get re-auto numbered.

Define "messed up vb 3.8". What's wrong with it?

I would look to impex as the absolute last case scenerio.

    hi mert, brian

    thanks for the reply

okay, my vbulletin forums isn't exactly screwed.
    the forums still functions normally.

    heres what happened.
    -Was vbulletin 3.7
    -HDD crashed
-Webhost stitched 3 db and restored the site
    -upgraded to 3.8.3
-Some users lost but gotten over it

Okay, here's the real problem, Uploading Attachments.

-Permissions checked. both usergroups, forums and anything to do with attachments
    -templates checked
    -disabled hooks

Nothing can solve my problem, the Attachment button is just not showing up. almost like it means the attachment function is disabled for all users. Vbulletin support says it could be due to some plugin that had messed with the sql

but i don't know how to find the cause through mysql

    thanks
    Tom

Have you tried re-upload 3.8.3 or even the new 3.8.4? i'm guessing there was a conversion step or something missed when the installer/upgrader ran.
