For a month now I have been experiencing sleeping queries on my database that keeps piling up to such a point my forum times-out. For the first time today I disabled vbseo and now I am not getting any of these sleeping queries. Can someone please help me with this, for it is really a HUGE problem.

    Thanks, and kind regards,

    Pierre

This is not funny! I have lost $100's because of this, and for the last hour without vbseo I have not had 1 sleeping query. This is an emergency, so can I get someone to assist me here please!!!!

What sleeping queries you are talking about. If you are asking about our assistance on one thing , you need to briefly explain things so we can assist. Without that there is not much to say.

As i personally don't see any kind of these sleeping queries on any on my personal installations and all my installations are major big boards.

    Kind regards,

    OK Mert, thanks.
This kind of attack I honestly did not expect. I have supported you for more than 2 years now, and to get this kind of treatment is really not called for. I am not as technical as you, so if I did not explain in a good way then my sincerest apologies. The issue is the moment I enable vbseo I start getting these hanging queries saying only vbseo.php at the end. These pile up to such an extend that my forum times-out. The moment I disable vbseo I have no sleeping queries. And for 2 hours now it has been fine without vbseo.

So please, login to my forum:

    Windows 7 Themes - CreativX

    Username: xxxx
    password: xxxxxx

    and enable vbseo.

    password for vbseo: xxxxxxxxxxxx

    Then check on my WHM:

    Link: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Username:xxxxx
    password: xxxxxxxxxxxxx

    and see for yourself.

    Thanks.

OH, and let me know if you do this, so I can add my .htaccess files on my FTP once you enable vbseo.

I am sorry but what attack are you talking about. You are making some claims and i am simply asking you to supply details of the your claims. Without that i don't know what you want us to do.

You say there are sleeping queries. Please briefly explain where you are finding these queries , supply log details etc.. so we can check.

    Kind regards,

Let me know whether you will check this and enable vbseo, then you can check as per my previous post.

I see these queries in my WHM on MySql processes and also my Process manager.

Are you sure those queries are generated by vBSEO ?

I honestly don't thing that any issue is related to vBSEO as even your homepage hangs out several seconds before loading correctly and it freezes Google Chrome page , it took. close to 2 minutes on firefox to load

Please supply a phpinfo page link
    Your detailed server stats

For 2 hours now I have been running my forum without vbseo, without one sleeping query. With vbseo enabled I have these sleeping queries constantly every minute.

Where can I get the phpinfo page link?

11 Message by you on Sat, 12th Nov 2011 8:33 pm
    My server stats:

    host2.creativx.net - Intel Xeon - Socket 1156 - host.creativx.com

    1 – X8STI-F
    1 – 500GB SATA
    1 – X25-M 80GB SSD
    1 – BXSTS100P
    6 – 2GB DDR3 1333 ECC
    1 – Intel Core i7 920
    1 – 1000GB SATA Caviar

My database is on the SSD.

Without supplying which exact queries are sleeping , i am sorry but there is not much we can do. Again if you supply us valid data we are happy to assist but that is not a valid data at all :

    > For 2 hours now I have been running my forum without vbseo, without one sleeping query. With vbseo enabled I have these sleeping queries constantly every minute.

This can be caused because of many different things.

Please login to my WHM and see my current processes as well as MySql processes now. With vbseo disabled. No sleeping queries, and everything is running smoothly. After this, please let me know and I will enable vbseo and add the.htaccess files to my server, then log in to my WHM again and look at my current processes and MySql processes and you will see it.

I don't know how else to explain this. Sorry!

You are missing the point , what you are writing doesn't mean that vBSEO causes that issue. You are running crazy number of modifications on your server. Mod_rewrite always add additional load to server and even that additional small load level can cause any bad configured query to create issues but again this is not related to vBSEO. If vBSEO had slow running queries or sleeping queries thousands of users would already report these before. In fact i stated you before. I am managing multiple big boards that average 200-300 k unique visitors daily and there is NO sleeping or slow query within vBSEO.

    Couple things :

    1. You have very less memory installed on your server which makes caching a little redundant
    2. You have many modification that adds incredible number of queries even on your home page

Before blaming vBSEO i would investigate those honestly.

If you want to learn which queries are sleeping or running queries , you should enable MySQL slow query log to identify problem causing query.

    Kind regards,

OK, so then without vbseo I have no problems, hence vbseo is not at fault. I got it. Thanks.

"1. You have very less memory installed on your server which makes caching a little redundant"
So having 12 GB of memory is too little in your mind. Thanks.
    6 – 2GB DDR3 1333 ECC

Fine, please tell me how to redirect all previous posts and threads now indexed for vbseo so I wont have errors on the search engines.

16 Message by Mert Gökçeimam on Sat, 12th Nov 2011 8:52 pm

I advise you to re read what you stated in your response 11.

    2GB DDR3 1333 ECC

    This is your own message.

Again you are missing the point , i am sorry but i have nothing more i can add to this ticket. You'll have to wait another staff member to respond here as you are clearly here only to argue and i have no intension of doing that.

    Have a great day

    I quote:

    1 – Intel Core i7 920
    1 – 1000GB SATA Caviar

My database is on the SSD.

    What does that mean??? 6 – 2GB DDR3 1333 ECC
    It means 6 times 2GB DDR3 1333 ECC

Anyways, if it is not too much to ask, can you please give me an answer on how to redirect all threads indexed for vbseo to without vbseo??

    Thank you.

It could very easily be a third party modification that is causing the problem and the problem doesn't manifest until vbseo is working. Mert was not trying to shine you on IMO. As a computer programmer that handles customer support for my own firm (day job), I can totally relate to what he was telling you.

Have you tried disabling all your other mods except for vbseo to see if the problem persists with just vbulletin and vbseo (and no other mods)? That would be instructive on whether your problem is truely related to vbseo or not. $.02 FWIW

Having run a very big board with vBSEO, the first (and only) time I came across a query problem (caused by vBSEO) was as a result of 'Direct Links'. Under 'Direct Links' in your vBSEO control panel, is "Replace 'Previous/Next Thread' redirect links?" set to 'Yes'?

If so, set it to 'NO'.

It adds 2 queries which for me caused tables to lock up (+ sleeping queries) and does absolutely nothing for SEO (infact vB doesn't show Next/Previous links to search engines).

Just a guess (having not seen your slow_queries.log), but would turn it off anyway

Hope you get it sorted soon

Surely there is some sort of logging you can enable that will help you pin point the problem. Why not try doing that rather than guess at what the problem is. Then maybe you will be able to sort it out.

    Hope you get it sorted

And here is an update on vbseo's wonderful support:

    Hi Pierre,

I'll be glad to assist you on this from now, but I wonder if you are still considering to uninstall vBSEO. If so, please let me know so that I can supply you with a custom ruleset to redirect incoming old vBSEO URLs to vBulletin default URLs.

If not, then could you please tell me whether the login credentials supplied in your post #5 are still working?.

    Kind regards,

Yes, the login details are still working! Sorry for the late answer.

Please understand that this is a difficult problem that is unique to your site and your server environment. We have had 3 different staff members look at your site and we do not yet have a remedy.

I understand your frustration, but calling us names and being sarcastic certainly doesn't help either. Please be professional.

The issue is over my head, and I personally do not know how to fix the issue you are seeing, nor have I seen another customer have it.

We will reply in ticket when we have an update to give.
