How will URL change affect vBSEO and Sitemap?

I am going to change my URL from current www.xxx.xxx to xxx.xxx

How is this going to affect my SEO? Currently the pages are indexed by Google as both www.xxx.xxx

and xxx.xxx

Are you saying you want to redirect all http://www. to http:// ? removing the www?

I guess there is an option for this atleast in google webmaster tools.. I will recommend you to make changes there first..

After a month or so. do the actual changes to your site.

Depending on how big your forum is, it averages between weeks to months.

I just want to remove the leading www.

I actually set the preferred URL as the URL without www. in Google Webmaster tool a few months ago.

I didn't realize it would have any impact

this definetly makes an impact if you have already done the same in google webmaster tools, do the same on ur webserver as well.
