How safe is the pinging...

I was reading the product description for the MaxBlogPress Ping Optimizer about blogs being banned by ping sites because WP pings your site for just about anything. So, I have Vbseo setup to ping every time a post is created (I guess that's what it does). So my question is, will there be any problems with the pinging sites banning my forum for repeated pinging? Anybody came across this problem before? Any way to schedule pinging at certain times? Your advice will be greatly appreciated. I wouldn't recognize a T-bone about this.

I've yet to hear of one instance of someone getting banned from a ping site from using vbseo.

vbseo's pings run on a cron job and have a flag set if they've already pinged or not.
