So is it also helpful to put a Disallow command in the Robots.txt file to prevent SE from crawling showpost.php?

I do this on all clients sites, I actually select the pemalinks for every option that have.

I have a feature request then, since users can find useful to post links to the "showpost" page, what about making an option that removes showpost links only from guest access, but shows them for logged users?

Excellent article. I found I had 150,000 show post urls out of a total of about 210,000. Checking on analytics I was receiving less than 1 hit a day on those showpost urls!

When a post is viewed on a page by itself, it is called a showpost page.

You need to update to the latest stable version of vBSEO

so if we want a maximum efficiency for the social groups, visitor messages etc. we should do the same things?

Social Groups , Visitor Messages , donot have an option to display single message thats why they are not related to this thread.

Should I do this for indigosociety.com or is that site too big?

I removed now visualization for showpost, and also put a disallow on robots.txt

I am wondering why my vbseo settings did not rewrite the showpost, maybe I messed something up.

Now I need some help to make vbseo redirect (301) all showpost.php requests to the correct "permalink" inside threads. Would it be possible to do so?
