How quickly does vBSEO work?

I've been posting about my experiences with vBSEO on my blog, ChrisGuthrie.net about one of my sites (GamingVidz.com). I have had it installed for 5 weeks now; however, I haven't seen a big number of changes.

Is it pointless to use site:gamingvidz.com as a search tool to track progress? I want quantitative data to show how well / not well vBSEO works (obviously, I want it to work very well lol and I think it will).

I installed vBSEO and the site map plugin on my second board four days and forgot to do the site:haloboards.com search until today. Does vBSEO work fast enough so that now my results from the four day late search will be really skewwed as perhaps vBSEO has already been doing it's thing?

vbseo works the second you install it.

However, google and the likes are slow and take time to re-index. Unfortunately, its entirely up to them.

Oh ok, so would it be safe to say then that the data I collected from site:haloboards.com four days after the vBSEO installation should not likely be damaged? I hadn't even taken care of the manual sitemap submission to Google and Yahoo yet either. (I'm just trying to control as many variables as I can; however, I know there are many).

The site: query is no longer reliable. We now advise that you use it primarily for trend identification. It's inaccurate, but it can show a general tendency towards growth.

The best metric is unique Web hits growth over time.
