How to let visitors know that there is more than the forums ?

I am pretty sure i am not the only one with this problem here: Beside the forum my website has a lot of unique content to offer.
So, when people find a thread in my forum on google, what would be the best way to let them know that there is more content on the site ?
A navigation on the left ? Or a small navigation on the top/right, in the header ? Any other suggestions ?

I prefer a common navigation in the header with all sections of your site listed; forums being one.

I prefer two different navigation at header. Main sections like blogs , forum , gallery at top and then regular vBulletin navbar. That way people will easily realize the different section.
