How do I install this thing?

The instructions looked simple, so I set the 'upload' file to upload and went to get some food. When I came back, my site was offline!

By deleting the .htaccess file, the site has come back.

Was I supposed to edit the .htaccess file? There's nothing about that in the instructions...

What do you mean by "offline"? Any error messages?

No, in most cases the .htaccess doesn't need to be edited. Did you install the vBSEO Product XML file?

Having installed the .xml file, I'm now getting the following message on every page:

Site error: the file /usr/home/sites/nlpconnections.co.uk/public_html/includes/functions_vbseo.php requires the ionCube PHP Loader ioncube_loader_fre_5.1.so to be installed by the site administrator.

I can't get back to disable the xml.

    HELP!!!

Test File told me to use the ioncube version.

You can remove all vBSEO files to restore your site. Are you on shared hosting? If so, you will have to ask your host to upgrade to the latest version of ionCube. If you have your own server, you can get the latest loaders here: PHP Encoder, protection, installer and performance tools from ionCube: Loader Download.

I'm on my own server and will upgrade.

Why does your test script say it's all ok if it's not, though?

Actually, it's because the vBSEO download doesn't include that particular file. Download the loaders for your operating system (FreeBSD apparently), and upload them into the ioncube directory under your forums directory. (In particluar, this file: ioncube_loader_fre_5.1.so )

The vBSEO download includes the most common loaders, but not all of them.

Download the loaders for your operating system here: PHP Encoder, protection, installer and performance tools from ionCube: Loader Download

From that download, upload this file ioncube_loader_fre_5.1.so to the ioncube directory under your forums directory.

If that still doesn't work, then you may have a line in your PHP.INI file that is pointing to an older version of the loaders. In that case, you will need to modify PHP.INI to point to the new version.

Can I just cancel my order and get a refund? I ordered because your test script said my server was fine and ready to go.

Your server does support ionCube, you just need the latest version. If you supply a root login in your support ticket, ionCube can be upgraded for you.

    Which version of Zend?

I had my fingers burnt yesterday because your test script said my server was ready for your ioncube version, and then it turned out it wasn't. This led to downtime, which is always annoying.

I'm thinking of going with your Zend version now instead. My server has Zend 3.0.2 installed. Is that version ok for your script?

Replied to your support ticket. Yes, Zend 3.0.2 should be fine.

Unfortunately it seems not to be fine.

This says Zend is installed on my server:
    phpinfo()

However, when I uploaded your script, I got an error message. Screengrab attached.

So now neither version is working, despite me having both ioncube and zend on my server.

    What's going on?
