That's how it jumps to a specific post. If you just click on a thread title, you won't get that.

If you click the thread title there, it doesn't have it. If you click on the Down Arrow in front (First New Post), or the Right Arrow after the last poster name (Last Post), it will have that so it can jump to the correct post.

That i would like to remove anything after the .html, this is what I am trying to accomplish

Becuase when you click on any newpost or lastpost, it is including that in the title also.

So you want to remove functionality for the user? Wow, my users couldn't live without being able to jump to where they left off reading.

Viewing the source of your page listed in your first post:
    Code:
    	<title>Nah nah nah nah...Nah nah nah nah....</title>
    It's not in there.

    Hi Mike,

the "#xxx" part get you the the specific place on the page and you will find that any vBulletin forum (like vbulletin.com ) has this feature - it would be very inconvinient to use forums otherwise.
As for the page title, it doesn't include the url.

You two are missing my point.

That functionality can be removed and it can still go to the last post. If you us IE and go to this post, You will see the #post99618 or any post for that matter

If you go to this URL

    http://sto.sportsrant.com/forums/t18...h-nah-nah.html

then the #99168 is not in the title on IE

BUT if you go to this post

    http://sto.sportsrant.com/forums/t18...html#post99618

it does show in the title, maybe not in the source, but in the title!

Maybe I am being anal here, but i think that this can be corrected since it was working when I had Dani's Mod installed and working correctly

    Does this clairify things

I showed you the source of your page, and it's not in the title of the HTML, so it won't affect search engines. (Even if it were, I don't know that it would affect them.)

If IE shows it in its title bar, then it's a function of IE.

There is no way a web page can jump to an anchor on that page without the #xxxx being appended to the URL.

If the thread is 10 pages long, and I want to go to the place where I last read (which is somewhere in the middle of page 5), it would be a pain in the rear to get there without using the Goto First New Post function. That function will not work without anchor tags.

That's why Jelsoft spent all the time/energy adding the ability to keep up with message pointers in the database for 3.5, so it would always be able to take you right where you left off.

As a matter of fact, there's a discussion going on right now surrounding this because with vbSEO enabled it isn't jumping exactly to the message as it should (it's slightly offset), which is annoying a lot of my users: first new post link
