Help. I took a look at this and I am not sure how to fix this issue. I think it could be the cause of my drop in PR.

Please take a look at these two photos:

What do I need to do to stop this from happening? Is there something I need to change in my VBSEO site map settings? What about my robots.txt? Thanks folks!

Cheers,
Bruce

You should get rid of the showpost pages by using the vBSEO option to "replace showpost with Permalink", and not include them in your sitemap.

Cheers. I've posted a comment in that thread, as my sitemap file 'isn't in a supported format' apparently

I am an owner of an Automotive forum(vbulletin) and my site is pretty much brand new. Slowly as my site was crawled by Google, I was going up and up on the Google search ranking. Then finally, within 2 months, I was in the first page of the Google search engine with the relevant search key word.

Then one day, I have decided to add ad words to get even more clicks. Immediately I realized what a big mistake I have made! As soon as I signed up for Google ad words, my site completely stopped showing up on the search engines. Not even on the 15th page. With my low cost-per-click, I was only getting few clicks a day on the sponsored link area of the search engine. So, I turned the adwords off hoping i'll get back to top again. So far, no luck. :(

I should also mention that I have added vbseo to help with the ranking, but No luck yet. It's very frustating when you know your site was in top google rank and now it's not even there...

Did this ever happen to anyone? what can I do at this situation? Does Vbseo has anything to do with this (I highly doubt though)?

Also, I have not yet "verified" my site with google webmaster tools because i don't know how to do it? (i have vbulletin)

thanks for your time and help

Installing AdWords should not have a detrimental impact on your search positioning.

Did you ensure you were compliant with the AdSense Terms of Service (TOS)?

Validating your site must have shown possible coding errors that occurred when you added the AdSense to the site:
The W3C Markup Validation Service

Make sure you figure out how to use the Google Webmaster tools. Follow the help section they provide.

I DO NOT have adsense on my site. I only had ad words on google search.

What's the easiest way to do this? adding a meta tag or uploading a html file? I have vbulletin. So, where do I add this meta tag? thanks.

There are two methods of validation.
1. Meta Tag
2. File validation.
You can choose any of them. What Steve Machol suggested is Meta Tag validation and you need to add Meta Tag inside your headinclude template.
