Hi
I sort of asked this in another thread but haven't received any replies so I will try and rephrase it.

I have VBSEO installed and it has worked great with my site being at the top of many searches however my domain name has a country extension like .co.nz. This means that Google is placing my site at the top of searches done in New Zealand.

However, I am losing a lot of the International traffic because it is considered a New Zealand site. We all know that .com or .net etc is more of an International domain and also that Google tends to put your own location sites up higher then International sites but what about industry extensions like .travel, .aero etc. - what does Google think of or treat these?

If I go to say .travel will I gain more international visitors (due to the psychology of the name) at the cost of losing visitors from my own country due to Google putting my country domains first?

One idea I have is to create static pages of localised content in the same structure that I have now to benefit from my current ranking and move my forums to an industry domain extension. I would place a redirect for the forums in the folder where my forums were to the new industry domain name site. This gives me two sites, one with localised content for my country at my current high ranking domain and another site that contains my forums and International content on a domain with an industry specific extension.

Please, I need to know what to do urgently and thanks for any advice.
