    Google indexing and crawler question

For the longest my sitemaps 'control panel' on google said my site wasn't indexed.

I just checked today and there was a total of one page on my site that had been indexed (and it was an obscure page from an old topic).

How often does google add/change it's indexed pages? Is it everytime a crawler hits the site? Is it once a month? When it feels like it? or is this another one of thse unknown google things?

On a side note: I have been really researching this seo topic. It seems that a site seems to get more love when other sites link to it. Perfect example is yesterday I went to my other websites and just put a little link on the bottom of the website. Now all of a sudden my site has been indexed by google where as before it wasn't. Coinsidence? Maybe... (probably)

So now I'm off on a rampant of trying to get sites to link to mine. I guess that's a whole other topic.

    Thanks
edit: I've only had VBSeo installed for about 4 days

What I have seen over the years, this is one point where PR seems to be important, higher PR seems to get visits from bots more often and also more of your deeper pages.

Definitely. Linkbuilding is a very important part of the process. Our new linkback features might help with that, especially if any of your threads or posts link to relevant blogs.
