I recommed, as does the W3C, to not use extentions of ANY kind.
why? because good URI's NEVER change.
look back 5 years ago.... all the cgi-bin/script.cgi pages everywhere on the net. php pretty much replaced perl/cgi's on the web. and with it, all those links are gone. It's really only a matter of time before php is obsolete.
even .asp has been replaced with .aspx.
/script/ never changes. whether it was cgi/perl, asp, php, jsp, cfm, etc... its still /srcipt/
