I am all of a sudden getting the same error message for no reason as I have not changed anything.

I have done this fix/workaround and it now displays the correct url in the address bar once you've clicked the link but still the same error :

Invalid Forum specified. If you followed a valid link, please notify the administrator

help :(

I had this on my forum, I forgot about it though, I will need to retry this and fix it

Mine was the xcache option in the vbseo cp, I was using the standard settings and someone else hosted with the same company was also so that was the reason!

If you have xCache installed on your server and have multiple sites you should define a custom cache prefix within config_vbseo.php
