Getting ready to install

Hello I just recently picked up a copy of vBSEO. I have been interested in the software for quite awhile and now is finally a good time for me to switch over to it. My question is how can I do so and get a good measurement of how well the software is working for me? Are there any recommended steps or procedures or tools I should use to see my before and after site statistics? I've noticed a number of people in the reviews section listing their various site stats and giving regular updates on them but Im not sure what the best way is to gather those stats. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can use "site:yourdomain.com" for simple tracking of your indexing in Google. Google Analytics is great for tracking your traffic, search engine keywords, etc.
