I can make a quick translation of the above mentioned thread.

In this thread you can read the feedback of two forummembers.

The first user says, that the links for the latest topic feature will create double content. Further he says that this links create scrappages.

The second user says, that when you edit a threadtitle the thread will be re-indexed (two links in the index).
Further he says that the topic can have multiple urls because only the id of the thread is important.
