    Another Happy Customer

I was getting "The encoded file /home/httpd/vhosts/*.com/httpdocs/forums/includes/functions_vbseo.php is corrupt."

I deleted that file. and now my forum only 1/2 works, heh. I have a 3.6.4 forum with little or no mods, just an AJAX quick chat thrown on...

    Thank god for backups.

I would reinstall vbseo (in binary), and if you are still getting that error, submit a support ticket. I wouldn't delete any vbseo files.

Naw, I backed up before and a restore just takes a few seconds, but thanks.

I uploaded the files via explorer sftp, is that not binary?

Probably, not. You can try some FTP client and force binary transfer or open a support ticket for troubleshooting.

Well it installed super smoothly. I feel like there should be more to do, is that it? I saved the settings I wanted.... seems too simple. I noticed the new buttons in posts and the new urls, neat.

Good deal. Sounds like you were running an old version of vbseo. You will like the new features you are seeing, alot of good stuff.

I'm embarressed to ask this as I'm suppose to be on the cutting edge of everything (hey, the older I get the harder this is becoming!) what are these little icons for?

Do I need to do anything else? I'm about to install the sitemap program too

Those are quick links for you, your members, or visitors to submit threads/posts to those sites. (digg, furl, technorati, del.ici.ous)

So I don't have to "do" anything else, this is it? Sorry, it just seems too simple compared to all the other mods I've installed in the past.

With vbseo, you really don't have to do anything else if you don't want to. There are plenty options available in the control panel to tweak until you are happy, but as far as required changes, nothing.

    The best vbulletin mod ever.

Thanks, if I see a noticeable improvement in the stats I'll buy keys for my other forums as well.

Oh, How long should I wait to compare stats? A week? A month?

    Thanks!

For SEO, think in terms of Months. It's not an instant (or even quick) thing. Just get your settings how you want them, and leave them alone. Consistency is key.
