    Few Questions about VBSEO

I just installed VBSEO (Had it purchased for a few days but was waiting). Found it pretty easy to install and so far all is well.

    Few Questions though:

1.) I use to have a Custom HTTP Error Mod from VB.ORG installed. I removed it as I didn't want it to cause any issues with VBSEO. Anyways what is the best way for errors such as 404 to be setup? This MOD basically made the 404 Page a Vbulletin Page so it was nice.

2.) I posted this originally in another thread, then figured it out ... *grins* But basically my member profiles were located at forums.houseofcrazed.com/username ; I removed the custom rewrite I had for this and tried using VBSEO to make it the same way by changing the option to [user_name] but it stopped all my forums from working as it thought they were Users O.o So I changed it to forums.houseofcrazed.com/patients/username

How will this affect Search Engines etc.. ? Obviously there is a new link for profiles ...

3.) I seem to be getting some refbacks from my VB Advanced page O.o

For your first question, I'm already running BOTH hacks on my forums and everything seems to work just fine here.

My forum: Final Fantasy Forums - An Unofficial Community to Final Fantasy
404 Error Page: Final Fantasy Forums - HTTP Error 404: File Not Found
Metal Gear Forums - Discussion on the popular series of console stealth-based games.

I believe vbseo also gives the option to redirect to your forum index upon any HTTP error.

Yes that's true but he's looking for something that can be fully integrated with vBulletin and all.

An example would be my forums right here: Final Fantasy Forums - HTTP Error 404: File Not Found
Metal Gear Forums - Discussion on the popular series of console stealth-based games.

I believe Exitilus's question was on "what is the best way for errors such as 404 to be setup?" In addition to your assurances that the option he had used previously would be compatible for vBSEO, I felt the need to add that vBSEO itself includes a "solution" built-in to handle HTTP Errors which is quite effective. It depends on your preference I suppose, but vBSEO's solution is just as integrated into vbulletin as any other modification out there..

If you are running your portal page and your forums off of different domains or subdomains vbseo will register a linkback as subdomains (despite their appearance) are considered to be wholly independent entities.

You ought to be able to add that url to a filter list, if this is the case within your vbseo control panel.
