    Excessive resource usage.

    Hi all

    I haven't posted here before (I don't think heh)
I've got VBSeo installed and haven't had any problems with it and it certainly has made my search engine rankings better
    But......
I run ConfigServer Security & Firewall which monitors resource usage, as well as suspicious activity etc and every other day, I get this email

    Time: Mon Jun 16 11:19:37 2008
    Account: xxxxxxxx
    Resource: Virtual Memory Size
    Exceeded: 102 > 100 (MB)
    Executable: /usr/bin/php
    Command Line: /usr/bin/php /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/vbseo.php
    PID: 5925
    Killed: No

So my question....is this something that's abnormal? or is it ok for that amount of memory to be used up?

i have my memory size to 128mb. i know 64 throws errors from time to time.

    i'd say its normal.

Remember, nearly all scripts on your site end up getting directed to vbseo.php, which then processes the correct file and prints the results.

    Thanks for the information

I check WHM on and off during the day and the CPU usage seems to be very excessive

For instance, right now, it's taking up 40% CPU according to "Current CPU Usage"

I'm running on a dedicated server and the CPU's that are installed, are

    rocessor #1 Vendor: GenuineIntel
    Processor #1 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz
    Processor #1 speed: 3066.987 MHz
Processor #1 cache size: 512 KB

    Processor #2 Vendor: GenuineIntel
    Processor #2 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz
    Processor #2 speed: 3066.987 MHz
Processor #2 cache size: 512 KB

    Processor #3 Vendor: GenuineIntel
    Processor #3 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz
    Processor #3 speed: 3066.987 MHz
Processor #3 cache size: 512 KB

    Processor #4 Vendor: GenuineIntel
    Processor #4 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(TM) CPU 3.06GHz
    Processor #4 speed: 3066.987 MHz
Processor #4 cache size: 512 KB

    (2 X Dual core processors.)
    Server has 6Gb of ram.

I don't have APC/Xcache installed, as neither seem to work with SuPHP running and I need that
I do have Memcache installed, which is running.
