Exclamation EMERGENCY: VBSEO stopped working for no reason!

On vacation, checked site on phone to discover URL rewrite not working. Must have happened since last night. Site was working fine at midnight last night. On dedicated server and called host - there have been absolutely no FTP access, no changes, no server maintenance or changes, etc for many days so there is nothing that could have been done to trigger this. No one else has access to either vb or server than myself. Created emergency ticket ( [2493-QUXM-2136] [857c6dd1]) but no responses yet. Someone please help, this is awful and have never had this in my 3 years of vB use on multiple forums. Especially scary since there was nothing done that could have possibly triggered this. Just now I check htaccess is fine, vbseo admin panel looks fine and plugin remains enabled, etc. There is nothing that could be causing this... what the heck is going on?!?!

Weird. I just found my site did exactly the same thing.

It looks like the config was defaulted. I uploaded a backup config I had and working fine now.

    Strange ...

I think the same thing happened to me yesterday, but not exactly sure. I just know my URL rewrites stopped working. I have a ticket in about it as well.

chronos - I'm sure support is getting to you as quickly as possible, but if you have a backup of your vbseo settings then upload that and it should work again. If you are running vb4 and had changed the content.php to be your homepage at domain.com/ you may need to repeat these steps again found here also: vBSEO 3.5 Release Candidate 1 is here! (but I think they should be saved in your settings)

As far as cause, the only date I saw modified on any of my files was the vbseo config file. I looked at timed backups and from what I can tell, it appears the file attributes on mine were previously set at the correct 644 (so I don't think it was wrong file attributes that caused it, but I could be wrong).

Thanks credit... unfortunately I don't have a backup. How do I make one of all the vb settings?

Well I feel your pain - I actually have a zillion backups on all sorts of drives and locations, but I'm on vacation and just arrived today (the 1 day out of probably 5 years I haven't had site backups physically on me, go figure!)

Were you running vBseo default? If so try putting your settings at default (mine were changed to different pre-sets). If you you give me your URL I can try and do my best to identify your settings (based on which structures have PR, which show n/a) but please note I am no expert at vbseo, but would like to help best I can

Ouch, not a fun way to start your vacation :/

I don't know if you can tell anything by my URL, because it seems VBSEO is not working at all.... but here's my forum:

    Cheers!

can you post a couple URLs for two popular threads on there at least 6 months old? I will then search what's in google's cache for the URL structure for them

also right now the home is directing to /forum/ is that correct? or should the home be domain.com?

    Hello,

the forum seems to work correctly, can you provide an example URL that doesn't work?

Ok I see what you mean...

Here's an example of a page cache'd in google:
Standard pixel dimensions for a cd case cover?

    The URL should be:
    Code:
    http://www.photoshopgurus.com/forum/general-photoshop-board/1618-standard-pixel-dimensions-cd-case-cover.html
But it is now showing this URL since yesterday:
    Code:
    http://www.photoshopgurus.com/forum/general-photoshop-board/1618.htm
