    Domain dropping in Google

I am experiencing something that I am not sure why and what to do about it so I am asking for your help.

    - I am in Australia
    - I used www.recreationalflying.com.au for about 4 years
    - I then changed to www.recreationalflying.net for the last 3 years to get international exposure and parked .com.au on top of it with a redirect as well. Recently .net got to 850,000th in Alexa Ranking
    - .net has been number 1 in Google search of "Recreational Flying" for me here and my competitor who doesn't have the recreationalflying domain name but has those words plastered all over his site, is number 2 in the search
    - 2 months ago I made .com.au a stand alone site of just vbadvanced addons for lists etc...the forums are empty, not used and not able to be accessed
    - google search on "Recreational Flying" then saw .com.au as number 1 and .net as number 2 with the competitor (non recreationalflying domain name but still a .com.au domain), as 3rd

    Now this is the problem.
    - .com.au is now first place (non forums, just vbAdvanced add ons targeted to Australia)
    - the competitor is 2nd place (static html incomplete site with meta tags and heading of Recreational Flying, non Recreational Flying domain name but meta and heading has the words Recreational Flying)
    - .net is 3rd place (Recreational Flying domain name and meta tags, vb v4.1.2, large forums, 6,000 users, 150k posts, several hundred posts per day, 400 reg users logging in per day, 1,500 unique visitors per day)
    - .net has dropped in Alexa from 850k to 1.1millionth with a down arrow)

Can anyone explain to me why this may be happening and any suggestions on what I can do about it

    Hello Ian ,

com.au domain should be 301 redirected to your net domain. However currently it loads and is not redirected any where at all. Your page loading time for is slow. Please note that page loading time is a key factor on rankings. Also currently on your com.au domain session id is added to your urls which is not a good thing. What i would do is choose com.au or net domain and continue with only one domain and 301 redirect the other to the domain you want to use.

    Thanks Mert
The reason for the .com.au is that the sites are about flying of aircraft and each country have different legal requirements for example an order of aircraft airworthiness is different in each country so a plane can fly in one country but not in another.

For this reason I wanted the forums to be world wide on .net but country specific (non forum but vbadvanced lists of things like airworthy orders etc) information on each country site like .com.au (Australia), .co.nz (New Zealand) however the forums contain a menu link to each country site. This is so a person in Australia doesn't get mixed up with important and life/death situations that apply in a different country.

I was hoping the end result would be that the forums on .net and the country specific site would become 1st and 2nd place in Google search on the domain name of Recreational Flying.

I also have .net.au which today I parked with a 301 into the .net site, not sure if this will help

The real issue here is that you fought yourself, and lost.

I'd also go back to the park of the local on the .net
