Exclamation Development site on different url

I'm running vBSEO on my live site and it works well.

However, I've just set up a full development site at a "spare" url, as the changes we are making to our site are massive - going to vBulletin and vBDrupal to replace all static pages - over 1000, plus 125 full blogs and more.

Then I discovered vBSEO rules say I can't use a different url - which seems unreasonable when it's clearly a dev site and using the same content - and not indexed or even found by google. vBulletin has no problem with a dev site, the licence fully allows it - and I think vBSEO should follow suit.

So what do I do - or does vBSEO do - to resolve the problem?

I DID send a message to vBSEO direct a week ago, and no reply to date.

    thanks, Grant

I believe that you are allowed to use vBSEO on development boards, whereby the boards are located at a private URL which is not publically available. This is basically the same policy that vBulletin adopt i believe?

    Hello Grant,

yes, you are allowed to use vBSEO on the testing board. You should open support ticket in case if your dev forum instance resides on different (sub)domain so that we can add it to registration database.
