Delete VBadvanced?

Hello guys,

I am wanting to remove Vbadvanced from one of my forums. The problem is, that my forum is currently located in the folder "forum". its website/forum/.. So, when I delete Vbadvanced all old links will not work anymore.

I would need help setting up 301 redirect rules to move the content from the subfolder to the root.

Thank you.

Hi ...

I have a 301 redirect in the website root:

public_html/index.php

index.php content:
Code:
<?
header ('HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently');
header ('Location: http://www.domain.com/forum/');
?>

Nuno's solution seems like a better approach. Keep the forum in the sub-folder, but make the sub-folder the homepage with a 301.

forumadress/forum/ to forumadress?

I would like to get the /forum/ out my URLs :-)

The solution above would keep the /forum/ as your actual homepage.

If you want to get rid of the /forum/ part it will require re-indexing, which is less desirable.

Hello Hendrik ,

In order to change your forum installation from domain.com/forum to domain.com , you also need to create a support ticket and request update on your domain.
Then you need to create a .htaccess file within your forum folder with the following content

Code:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteRule (.*) http://www.domain.com/$1
