    ?dateline= parameter on avatar urls

    Hey all,

is there any way to get rid of this ?dateline=12345556 (unix timestamp) parameter on avatar urls? I know what it's for but it would be great if it could put into the regular url to keep it free of parameters.

anything like /avatar/username-userid-12345556.gif would be great.

That's not primarily SEO related though - it's more like a caching issue with proxy servers.

    Any idea?

That's exactly the point of it... to make sure the browser downlaods the latest file, not relying on the cache. That way when someone updates their avatar, it is shown to all users on the site without a hard fresh necessary.

    I'd suggest leaving it in.
