    Question Database & Template Changes

What database changed if I install the vBSEO Plug-ins ?

And what template changed if I install the vBSEO Plug-ins ?

I installed vBSEO recently, but when I uninstall, it can't get cleanly uninstalled.

I mean the old vBSEO database still stuck at my forum's database.

Also the vBSEO's old template is still stuck too at my forum's database.

    Please advice...

Please check : How to uninstall vBSEO - vBulletin SEO Forums

When you install vBSEO , you'll be given two options. Clean vBSEO Data , Keep vBSEO Data. If you don't plan installing vBSEO again you should choose Clean vBSEO Data. It will uninstall everything from your db.

The templates vBSEO adds are automatically removed after uninstallation. However if you customized any of these templates you have to revert them. This is default vBulletin functionality.

vBSEO also removes tables that has been created during installation.

as I have stated before, recently I had installed vBSEO but when I tried to uninstall vBSEO, the database are still in there and forcing me to delete the tables manually through the mysqld console.

    now my questions are:
    1. If I install vBSEO again (now) will I encounter the same problem ?
    2. If my site is already running with vBSEO, and then search engine (like google, yahoo, et cetera) crawling my site with vBSEO's given SEO address right ? In case I uninstall vBSEO, will I lost all of those traffic ?
    3. Is there any standard SEO address type ? maybe like:
      Code:
      http://www.sitename.com/f-xx/t-xx/

    1. You were using an outdated version of vBSEO. You should always use the latest version of vBSEO because vBSEO releases also include bug fixes in old versions. Also the version you used was encoded. vBSEO 3.1.0 and later versions are not encoded anymore.

    2. Yes , if your site is indexed with vBSEO'd links and if you uninstall vBSEO , you'll loose all your index. However you can redirect traffic back to original vBulletin urls as explained within the link i gave to you.

    3. vBSEO comes with 6 different rewrite options. You can choose any of them or customize it to your needs. However if you ever install vBSEO , we strongly advise not to change rewrite settings because if you change rewrite rules , all your indexed content will be lost and they will have to be re indexed.

I really don't know why you plan to uninstall vBSEO but if you ask my opinion i would install vBSEO back , then create a critique request within vBulletin SEO Discussion - Critique Please at vBSEO.com so users and staff can suggest their opinion how to improve your onpage seo also.

I'm glad if I can re-gain and re-direct all of my vbseo addresses back to vbulletin's original address, so I don't lose any traffic in case I uninstalled vbseo, am I correct ?

if correct, then I might consider re-installing vbseo again. thank you for your help

    Hi Andy,

It is possible to create a.htaccess directive that would redirect vBSEO'ed URLs back to the original vB versions, if you use the 'id' versions of the vBSEO rewrites.

Without the id in the vBSEO'ed URL, it's not possible to determine which thread/forum to redirect to.

    Hello Andy ,

As mentioned in the blog entry , it is possible to redirect all vBSEO'd Urls to original format even it includes id or not.
